Some of you may have heard about the "new" poppy jasper discovered here in Calif and is sold on ebay under the name "Robyn's Poppy Jasper, and well, if you haven't heard of it, here is a sample of what it looks like. Except for the colors, it's pretty much the same as the Morgan Hill stuff in that it has fractures, though not as bad, and it takes a great shine if you work at it. I'm going to bring the cab above and this one, to Woodward Ranch and give them to the Woodwards. I figure I'm taking rocks from their part of the country, I should at least give them some from the area I live in.

I like those colors in that Robyns Poppy Jasper. I'm sure the Woodwards are gonna love em' and it sure won't hurt "buttering" up to them. Have fun! Steve

Great cabs Ed. I'm gonna have to get me a hunk of Robin's jasper for my collection. It's pretty unusual looking, kinda like the Napa county material that was on display at the state show at Angel's Camp last year. Do you know where Robins Poppy material is found?..mel

Hey Ed, two more fantastic cabs! Is that second one Guadalupe? Can you buy Robyn's PJ locally, or is that an ebay purchase? -Don

Thanks guys, from what I understand this poppy jasper comes from an area around Clear Lake in Lake County. For those not familiar with Calif, it's a couple hundred miles north of Morgan Hill and the Almanden Quicksilver mines where the Gaudalupe poppy jasper is found. The second cab is Gaudalupe. The only people I've seen selling Robyn's PJ are the husband/wife Julie-Tom on ebay. But for me they are local as they live just over the hill from me in Santa Cruz, or Aptos to be exact.

Yea Ed- That is good looking stuff- Robyn's PJ is a pretty new discovery- I read her write up on Ebay- With the other PJ's kinda disappearing- it is nice to see a new one hit the market- I just hope their Mining efforts pay off!
