Okay...am I dumb or what? I got a saw given to me...cleaned it up...but it came with no instructions. Any idea how to get the coolant in? Do I just dump it in over the blade? and how much do I put in? Any help would be appreciated.

yes that's the one. sigh...everything I can find says "just and coolant and go"...that's not very helpful. I guess I'll have to see if I can find a number.

herm look for acouple screws in the top where the blade is and around the edges the top should come off because you will have to clean it out so there has to be a way in hahaha,, on my trim saw the plate comes off where the blade comes through allmost the whole top that you would lay a slab on to cut

as far as how much to add, once you get access to the pan, you will want to put in enough so that the blade is about 1/2" submerged......

and for how much coolent all you need to fill is enuff to cover the bottom of the blade about 1/4 inch if you put too much it shoots out all over hahaha,, it will prob tak about a quart maybe less when you get the top off watch the blade when you fill it and stop at a 1/4 inch on the blade

i was erring on the side of caution there.....1/4" is probably the right amount, i use water and i add some in after it sits a while to cover for evaporation. my 6" Lortone take 5 quarts of water plus some coolant/anti-rust stuff.
go, Herm! KD

KD your 6 inch saw takes 5 quarts you must have the new style saw fs-6 cause my ts-8 only takes like 2 quarts and its full ---well covering the blade 1/4 to 1/2 inch

The only draw back to Rock Rascal is that the Bearings are integral to the shaft..If the bearings go you have to replace the whole shaft(very pricey)--Also use more water than recommended--It is messy but the blades will last much longer..The coolant gets so dirty that more water is required the longer you use this machine--I have had a Rock Rascal model J for years and it still preforming well----
