Hey Kevin - I remember you talking about that bail. How thin do you make the stone to get it in there?

thanks...those 2 is snowdogs material ;D
daniel...with out any extra back grinding they cant be any thicker than 1/16 for the medium sized bail...can be 5/64 thick for the large bail.
i usually take an 1/8 inch peice and grind the back of the pendant about 3/16 down from the top to 1/16 thick...tumble it..then drill it.
sandy yep thats fenton...i have a lot of carnival glass around the house...fenton ..northwood...thats probably the only peice of milk glass i have...kev.

At 1/16 do you get some breaking when you drill?

the only thing that has really broken is amy...it just has a mind of its own ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) . this is kind of hard explain...yaw know me ;D....when you backgrind the pendant...if you grind it in a way that there is kinda a square corner at the bottom of the 1/16 grind....it has a habit of breaking off during the tumble. it must be ground so at the bottom of the grind there is a radius...this provides strength to the area...where it needs to be for drilling and tumbling. any way ya...a lot broke untill i figured out the radius junk...ill post a pic tommorow of how to..and not to...kev.
