I went and cut some slabs for rocky today, so I took my camera and got some pics of how the 20" blade setup works. This thing cuts fast!! I have so much coolant going over the blade it never even gets warm to the touch, so I am running it at full throttle and cutting at warp speed!! LOL I have a 750 gph bilge pump shooting a 1" ID hose right onto the blade, I just pull my pickup in and hook the bilge pump to the battery and cut away. Here is a pic of one of nephrites pieces of jade cued up and ready to cut. I think I finally got the rock clamp system figured out, too! And the 6x6 block in the back is to keep the rock tray from hitting the shaft of the blade where the spindle sticks through, kind of a design flaw there. I am thinking about mounting a grinding wheel on the outside of the shaft next to the pulley so I can sit there and grind away while I am waiting for the saw to cut through. Nephrite sent me 2 pieces of jade yesterday, THANKS!!! Way cool!! Power source for the bilge pump. Pics of the slabs I cut tonight, minus 4 that I already packaged up to send to rocky. closeups of the california jade from Tony (nephrite) Anyone know what this is? It has jasper like lines but it fractures real easily. Thanks for lookin.

That blade looks tiny compared to the other... hehe. Very cool slabs.... What's the stuff with the blue in it? Azurite maybe? Or Lapis? That blue color is intense... just wondering what it is.... edit: I just realized that the blue might just be reflected... if so.. never mind..

Well, you got that beast tamed, Tony. Looks like you went with Connrock's idea on the fender. Do you still have to close the big cover when you pump right on to the 20" blade?

I just noticed the blue when you said that blarneystone, wish I had some rocks with that in it!! It is a reflection.
Rich, yes I do have to close the cover, if I didn't I would be out of oil in a very short time. LOL Yeah I did use Connrocks idea, I looked all over for an old bicycle fender but couldnt find one, finally had to settle for an old dirtbike fender, it has actually worked pretty good, keeps the oil more on the blade instead of flying around inside the drum so much.
Man I have been having so much fun with this thing, my wife says now no rock is safe.......LOL. I didnt get to go cut tonight, had a birthday bbq to attend, and I just got a box of brazilian agates in the mail today, too! I almost took off from work today just to open a few. I can't wait to see whats in them. Well, maybe tomorrow..............Tony
