I went out early this morning before it got hot and hiked through a small canyon that I have wanted to check out for a few months now. Down in the bottom of the canyon it looked like someone had taken 5 gallon buckets of agates and thrown them out like chicken feed. Mostly smaller tumbler stuff, but I did find a few pieces that are big enough for the saw, and one piece that took a while to get into the back of the pickup. I hauled 4 backpack loads out before it got too hot, I would guess about 80-120 lbs per load, the last load broke one of the straps on my backpack, so I had to tie it together. I got a few pics from my driveway but it is so sunny that it almost washes the color out. The shady shots show up alittle better. Thanks for lookin...............Tony

Great finds, Tony! Please show us what you'll do with the big one. Are you able to saw it?

Adrian, The big one has several fractures so I dont think it will saw as it is, it does have one fairly solid side, so maybe that one might saw. Thats something for sometime down the road. I've still got quite a bit of stuff to saw up before I get to that one. MrP, Carrying rock is like carrying elk meat, I think the elk tastes better when you pack it out of the hills on your back, (one of my buddies says thats cause you tenderize it some everytime you fall down.........LOL) and carrying rock out on your back makes it more personal to me, if that makes any sense???
