Geez, I hate hot weather. And to think I've lived here in West Texas all my life. I haven't been able to do any cabbing, just barely tumbling, in my garage because it gets so dang hot. Anyway, that's my gripe. Could be worse, I could be a Dallas Cowboys fan.

LOL. Just realized I posted this topic in the members photo section. It should have been in the general rocks section. See what I mean? That heat is frying my brain.

not in Dallas, it's not. It's so humid my fossil sandblaster keeps clogging up every half hour or less. Fine abrasives and high humidity do NOT mix, except as a hard concrete-like plug inside an air line

hot? you haven't seen hot until you've lived in az. The good thing here is, i have a swamp cooler on my patio that keeps it nice and cool. it makes about a 30 degree difference so I can work out there all year long.

Gil, we know what you meana bout the hot humid weather..it has not been as hot as it could be...but the humidity reminds us of North Carolina. we have had more rain this season so far than they have had since 1947. y'all are not too far from us either. I would much rather have the dry heat..easier to deal with. Steve

I live just a few miles from the southern tip of Death Valley. When I was considering moving here, I figured it was right next door to the hottest place on the planet ... perfect! Well, summers are paradise, with most days being over 100 degrees, but I hadn't figured on the winters being so doggoned cold and long. We're now looking for a new place to move to in about three years, where the summers are hot and dry but the winters aren't as cold. The Old Lady vetoed Cabo.

michaeljohn: Check out where I live, Ojai, California. Hot summers and warm winters plus 15 minutes from the beach. Ojai was actually the site chosen to film the old movie " Shangra-La". Place is absolutely paradise except a little expensive and only a few good rocks on the beach. Rest is all fossils...mel

I wouldn't mind the heat if this humidity would leave. I mean, we had 42% humidity yesterday! Seriously - you get accustomed to 10-15% humidity, and when it quadruples like that, it just kills you. I could do with 95° if it wasn't humid. *sigh*

The heat hits here, too! There were 40 Celsius (104 F) in Bucharest today! In Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey is even worst: nearly 45 (113) in some areas. That is while in Western Europe there is cold and floods. Well, at least the average is OK Adrian

Not hot here. Late afternoon, mixed sun and cloud, 20 C (68 F). Which is good, because I don't like hot either. For you hot folks, here's a pic to cool you off. I took it a few winters ago on a day with the wind gusting to 75 km/hr (47 mph), and temps falling to -35 C (-30F). -Don

All I can say is that it is hot and humid -- has been for a while now -- and I LOVE IT!!!! I never complain about the heat because I know what it will be like in six months!

You won't hear me complain, I can use my new pool now! - When it gets too hot, I think that winter is just around the corner and I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet!
