Very pretty country Susan! Is that the area where the Colorado thundereggs come from? Now I'm gonna have to go look in my notebooks and see what that area is famous for. I've never hunted Colorado but it sure looks like a nice place to hunt in the hot time of year!....Mel

Susan: That looks like a young of the year Red Tail Hawk. They don't get the red tail until the 2nd year. Lot's of mortality in young ones and that one does look hungry *S*. I did have one stoop on my dog one time but it pulled out at the last minute. From that moment on ole Cody's mission in life was to run around barking at any big bird overhead. Pretty funny to watch *L*.....Mel

Can't wait to see the goodies you found, although you did find plenty of non-rock beauties! I think I would have chosen to be all alone with my dogs hunting rocks, rather than with a large crowd at the UFO festival. Glad you had a fun and safe trip. Steve

Wow, Susan. Good for you. That kind of trip is soothing to the soul. At least it was for me seeing your pix. How could you not have had a good time? Hope the agate collecting was as fulfilling.

Hey Susan, I had to go "down below" for a few days and just now got back home. What great photos! I absolutely love the mountains. I think that I must have been born about 200 years too late. I would have made a good "mountain man". Kind of like Jeremiah Johnson except that I don't think that I could eat anyone's liver. Looks like a great place to bike to! May need a sidecar for the "kids". Ron

Almost missed these Susan.. hard to keep up here sometimes.
Great pics! What a beautiful place. I like the 'old man' at the entrance. Looks like you and the poochies had a great time!
