I've been kind of absent the last few weeks, been reading and trying to stay caught up, but have been busy. I started seeing a guy who is a rockhound. When we don't have anything to do in the evenings, we have been rockhounding, scuba diving or fishing, but still finding rocks while we dive and fish! I found out he's good with the tile saw for slabbing too! I'll get some pics of some new slabs here soon and post those as he cut into some of the stuff I have around here and it is some nice stuff! Before we were seeing each other, he knew I loved amethyst and he gave me this geode. I had to show it off! Randy gave me some nice slabs here awhile back and I've managed to cut some pendants from them, they are in the 500 stage now, so hopefully will get some jewelry done soon and get to post those too! Sandy

Looks like you not only have a beautiful geode but you have found a perfect someone special--a fellow rockhound who knows how to use a saw and fish and scuba! Wow!
Looking forward to more pix.

If he is independently wealthy, I'd say you found a perfect man! Just kidding. It's nice to have a partner who shares in the passion for rocks. Congrats. Nice geode.

great geode and fantastic news to find a friend that likes the stone AND likes to fish. can't think of a better combo, well, as Stoner said, independently wealthy would be nice......
can't wait to see your jewelry!

Beautiful geode! Amethyst is the coolest, one of these days I'm gonna get an amethyst cathedral that's ten feet tall. ;D

Thanks everyone! It is beautiful, by far my favorite rock that I own. I eventually will break down and buy an amethyst cathedral to go with it. And yes it's great to have a friend that will drop everything and go rockhounding!
