Dan suggested a video after I was unable to get good pictures of a Labradorite cab I did the other day. This one looks like it is cracked like crazy but that is just the gold flash, there is a really cool multi colored upper left that looks great in person, and two or three blue ones deeper in. Btw for those that knew I was playing with this stuff, it is not the good one, I am still afraid to touch it. No need to download, it will play online. Looks best at full size s128.photobucket.com/albums/p175/spikeict/?action=view¤t=2ecc92e4.flvMark

yeah that's cool! It's funny because right when you say "you can't really see the blue flash..", 3 or 4 little flashes of blue jump out...hehe. It's easy to see the gold veins in it though.
I remember seeing some opal on e-bay that had a vid to show the flash... wish I had saved it now. It was held between the thumb and index and he just rocked it back and forth while rotating the face.
Can't wait to see some more.. that's just neat. Whoever thought making a video of a rock would be a good idea? hehehe.

It is not as dramatic as previous, but I really like the gold in black and the unexpected blue. It started as a dud but I wanted to work more of it before I did the good stuff. The upper left flash has yellow, red, blue, green, violet, and everything in between in it.

Hey Mark good idea. The video shows it off fairly well although I'm sure its a lot better in person. Good job.

Hi Mark,.. Great video. If you aren't satisfied with the piece the way it is, try this. Take it back to the cabber and flatten out the top of the stone to get a cab with a much lower dome. Since the flash runs on a flat plane, you should see more of it. At least that has been my experience .

Thanks all, Don I was thinking the other way, but that does makes sense. I will try it, and that will make one that I have started easier.

That is a great idea, I can think of a couple uses for this that may help solve some picture problems
