Sorry for starting a thread just to post a pic of one rock but I got excited! so its only one rock because i cheated. after it came out of 500 I hand polished it with a cloth impregnated with some polish(...so i was a bit impatient ) anyway now i will post the pictures then i will continue to blabber on! it looks much shinier in real life(its funny I read on the forums lots of people having that problem but i though i would be able to circumvent in because on of my more major hobbies is photography) its not a glassy shine or anything but i wasn't expecting it to be. i kind of broke all the rules....you know just to get it out of my system ;D. I hurried the steps and mixed rocks together without compairing hardness. still I'm happy with this one rock (and hopefully more when the rest are done) so it wasnt a total waste!

;D That's pretty funny and really impatient. How are you ever going to wait until the others get done? *smile* I'll give you an A+ just for polishing it by hand though.

Well, I thought I was impatient but not anymore. My stones are still tumbling. What a great name for your user ID! I do like your stone, though, Hopeless.

hopelessB, That is too funny. I kind of remember my first bacth, and it seemed like eternity, but I have come to except the fact that Patience is a huge part of tumbling...Unfortunately. Your first rock turned out very nice though....just don't do this again. It would take you forever to do each stone before their due. "young grasshoppa....let this be a lesson....patience my dear" Steve

What a hoot! You hand polished? Wow! Get a vibe, they are faster. You are actually SUPPOSED to check it every 12 hours or so! (I actually took video pictures, haha!)

Your a wreck Raphael!! LOL
When you start on the mozarkite pm me if you have any ?. I run it for 2 to 4 weeks in 60 to 90 grit, then I go 2-3 weeks in medium grit then a week in 600 grit then pre-polish for a week, then polish a week. 2 months total!!!!! You will never make it!! I didn't, I had to buy another tumbler, then a saw, then a grinder, then a cabber... it never ends..... john

Chuckle Chortle - I remember those days! Well done on getting there! The pebble you've got there was well rounded, was it rough when you started? Whichever you did well to get a polish on it - not as easy as it sounds, congratulations! (It's all down hill from here!, I've got 3 tumblers now and I cant wait to get a decent saw for slabbing. My first experiance stone polishing was by hand - As a kid I bought a £2 polishing set ($5) which was intended for hand polishing, just add some water to the carbide for paste, and grind by hand on a hard flat surface (back doorstep - no wonder I was popular! ) 80 then 220 ten 400 before polish. I did it too! Rose quartz, a wee chunk of marble and whatever I could find that I liked - we all have to start somewhere! I actually managed to put polished faces on several pebbles before I found other stuff to do.
