Bought this today, I have no idea what it is, all I know is that I liked it. I can only guess Serpentine and something. The shop owner didn't know but said he thought it had come in a mix from Brazil. The green in the pic is true, hard to say if the rest is purple or dark blue. Shown dry: Got it for a song and if you ever heard me sing, you would know how cheap it was. Oh and yes I will be boring you with a cab pic or two next week (IF I am able to cut it, a little thick for the wf).

Oh I like that muchly!!! I wonder if it will resemble the serpentine I posted in the General board last week once it's cut. Look forward to seeing the cabs. I know what you mean about some specimens being a challenge for the Work Force. Even when I try rolling my rocks, I can't always get clear through. Good Luck and Happy Cabbing.

Did some more checking today, it appears that is Serpentine and Stichtite, they are cousins. Everything I have read today points to that. Here is a example. www.cabinhousetradingpost.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=66_133&products_id=676From mindat I am thinking that it may have come from Mexico as Stichtite is not showing up in Brazil. Upside, as you can see from above and other places I have seen it is expensive stuff, I think I paid $2 for about a 2 1/2 - 3 pound chunk (hard to tell as I bought a small good looking crazy lace and a chunk of picture Jasper at the same time and the bill with tax came to $6.07). Downside, Mohs 1.5 to 2, so it may have to treated and I have never done that. I have cabbed Rhodochorsite untreated and got to say the last couple were pretty good and that (without looking it up) is what? 2 - 3? Mel? anyone? Mark
