Howdy, here are a couple of the odd poppy nodules I collect from our pasture. They erode from the hill in a belt about 1/4 mile long but unfortunately, most are covered by vegetation and I only stumble upon them in the creek bed or occasionally loose on top the ground. The green I think, is epidote in quartz but it might be chlorite and the black is hematite. The jasper itself apparently couldn't decide if it wanted to be poppy jasper or brecciated jasper. Weird stuff anyway. Thanks for looking....Mel Another one: closer look:

Neat! The red/green is reminiscent of certain Brenda finds.

Geez, here in WI, all we have in our pastures is--cow poop. To make things worse, I dont even have a pasture----. The rocks are odd but beautiful, nice finds for sure. Nona

I read it twice before I realized it wasn't "poopy" jasper...the pasture find title had me thinking about other stuff I guess. Anyhoo..it's cool looking.

Nice find Mel, those are stunning slabs, some of 'em look like little red foot prints, excellent detailing.

So what kind of animals leave those out in the pasture? I want to get a herd of them!!
We should all take a forum trip to sabre's pasture and go rock tippin instead of cow tippin. Nice stuff Mel................Tony
