This is such a cool concept. I went diving once in ST Thomas. They give you a 10 minute what to do and what not to do and take you out in a shallow bay. Totally unreal (and now that I am older and think a little more; dangerous considering the lack of training.) But underwater rockhounding sounds like having your cake and eating it too. And you get to play with the rocks when you get home. I am going to have to put that on my to do before I die list (along with the scuba training

I always wanted to dive, just never had the time to start up another hobby. I have always heard that if you learn to dive in the waters of the Midwest you can dive anywhere.
