You sure do have some nice pet wood there. I like the first and second pic of the palm wood. Never seen any with red in it.

Very nice slabs, in fact they are beautiful! I like the knot in the 2nd pic. And the palm wood is awesome! How do you cut them, you put them in plaster?

Thanks Firewalker!
Mitzi I find a lot of red palm wood around here...Just not very large pieces.
Stephan It will be this fall before I can get any more. (Too hot now) So we're on the same schedule. :-)
Adrian and John My 14" saw needs a blade, so I cut those on my trim saw.

Great looking palm and the rest are pretty terrific too. Is the orbicular material a usual find and is it a named variety like Rio Grande Agate? Never seen one quite like it......Mel

Mel The orbicular is one of the few things I find that repeats its self. Most of what I find is always different. Some of it is similar, but different.
I have never seen any of the material I collect for sale or in any collections, so I'm sure it doesn't have a name. Maybe I should have a name this material contest....Or just call it Curt's Follie. :-)

Awesome Woods as usual Curt!! I really like the patterns in pics 5 and 7 - reminds me of the meteor shower the other night with all those streaks and bright spots! You're darn tootin' it's hard - I'm still trying to whittle away the pieces you sent me a few months ago! I can vouch for you!! ;D
