Lament for the death of my cab It is with heavy heart that I announce the death of my cab. Red Plume that's been beside me all week. A couple hours every evening spent shaping, learning.. getting to know each other. You made it so far! I held on tight through 50K.. seeing that you had every opportunity available in life. Oh did you shine. And as the chance to capture your beauty this evening arose it happened. You slipped through my hands. I can still see the impact as you hit the tile floor. Over and over in my mind like some hellish nightmare. If I had been able to catch you on the first bounce.. maybe, just maybe there would have been a chance.. But it wasn't meant to be Good bye my friend o' feathered plume. May the tumbler be kind to your shattered remains.

That sucks, looks like it was a real beauty too. If it's any consolation, I bet most of us have had something like that happen, probably more than once. I once dropped a large container full of colourful tumble-polished Arizona wood. Man, that stuff is brittle! Turned a lot of it back into tumbling rough. -Don

I appreciate the kind words. After writing this I threw on my Muddy Waters CD, tipped back a couple ice cold Anchor Steams and regained a bit of perspective. Jeremy, the remnants will be shipped off to you on Monday. I believe in miracles, and the Force is strong with you guys. Have a great weekend all!

Sorry to hear and see that Beef. The story brought tears to my eyes, you have a way with words. Can't wait to see what Jeremy does with it. Steve

May it rest in pieces.
Sorry!!! Get some old carpet for the floor. I stand on a piece when I cab and it has saved many a dropped piece!

Sad day...sad stone... HOWEVER - sacrifice made to the new cabbing machine - should be smooth sailing from here on out. At least with a little help from some carpeting... Hope you can look back on the good times you shared, the grinding, the shaping, getting familiar, and remember that in the words of Tennyson - " 'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." ;D Now - let's see what Jeremy can do - sending a broken cab to Jeremy is kinda like sending someone who's sick to the Mayo clinic.
