Super rocks Stoner, that's some amazing Picture Jasper, do you order direct or from a US supplier? I't seems to take a lovely polish, and the patterning is stunning. Do you tumble your offcuts? I'm only a lowly tumbler, (no wheels man!! hehehe) - so it's nice to see what stuff looks like that I might have a crack at myself. Is the character of the stone lost when chunked up and tumbled to pebbles? I suppose the same might go for the sky / desert landscape varieties? Thanks for sharing, I'm very taken with that material.
Cheers, Harry.

Ed, That Picture jasper is some phenomenal material. I can't even imagine how something like this forms and with all those patterns. Rocks never cease to amaze me. Great cabs..all of them. Steve

Holy cow!! These are, are, dang I cant come up with a good enough word. Gorgeous, Beautiful, Awsome, ect. I cant stop looking at them.
Where do you get your rough material? (Royal Sahara) I cant get over the incredible diversity of pattern and color in this stuff and you do a great job cabbing it.
Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing with us.

Great cabs, Ed. The first one is kinda Morrisonite lookin'. The second's like happy valley through a fisheye. Rich (I have a real odd shaped chunk that oughta yield a nice scenic oval about 4" wide)

I've been buying this material directly from the owners website. www.royalsaharajasper.com/index.htmlI've gotten some nice material from their sale items too. I don't think there's such a thing as bad Royal Sahara Jasper Rich, what are you waiting for, cut that sucker up and cut some cabs.

I see the RSJ on e-bay. (Doesn't Dale Rhodes have a connection to the people that mine it?) Best way I can describe it is that it's really ALIVE for a picture jasper. But ED!!!! Beautiful cabs! I haven't seen anyone elses that are as nice as your. And the pom-pom is to die-die!!!

Hi All!!!
You are welcome to visit our online store where we post material for sale and we also are starting to "eBay".
We originally found this material late last spring here in North Africa in the Sahara Desert (ergo; the name).
We live in the states, but are working the digsite right now. That's where I'm emailing from; N. Africa.
Anyways, we're happy to see everybody likes the patterns and we hope to continue to make this amazing jasper available for a loooong time!
We'll keep y'all posted on what our future plans are both here and on our webstore.
Best regards;
Janet & George

By the way Stoner, beautiful work - as always!!!
You always do our Royal Sahara Jasper justice being the professional that you are.
Keep up the good work and we'd like to feature some of your cabs on our website. We are going to start an "Online Showcase" for finished cabs from lapidaries and all are welcome to submit finished RSJ cabs. We'll post your work and your name for 1000's to view.
Thanks again;
Janet & George

That is by far the best picture jasper I have seen. Someday I may even be able to afford a piece of it and be talented enough to do it justice as you have.
