I should've posted this a long time ago. Awhile back, John (Builtonrock) posted pictures of some terrific pieces he's made. (I can't find the pics anymore.) I was really stoked about one piece in particular and said so in the thread. It was a stone nail that he had worked up on a grinder and it was super nice! Well... John sent me a PM and said that they would look great made out of the red japser that I find here locally. The conversation went something like this: I said: "well, let me send you some red jasper so you can make some more nails with it"He said: "No, they're easy to make and I was thinking you could make one" I said: "well, I don't have a grinder yet!" John said: "Oh what the heck, I'll send you one" or something like that.. hehe.. Anyway... He sent me one!! Here 'tis: John, I really dig it! I wear it a lot and I normally don't wear any jewelry except for my wedding ring. Thanks for the great gift man! Dan ;D

That is very unique and "Manly" Why heck you could poke an eye out with that! Must be hard to trim out and grind a piece that long. I think maybe my wheels are too close together to do that. Very cool!!!.....Mel

That is really neat! I can't ever remember seeing any of Johns posted pieces; I guess he better post them again. I would wear something like that too, very unique. I guess I'm going to try to do something like that now. Thanks for showing us Dan. Steve

Well I have been out of the loop, I have not seen this thread until today! Thanks for the thanks Dan, I'm very glad you like it. I have about 6 or 8 more in the works. I was looking for more Mary Ellen Jasper as it looks so much like an old nail but I'm using wood, agate and other jasper. They are called passion nails. john

John, it looks like you might not have many of those left for the upcoming show with so many of us interested in taking one of the Passion Nails off your hands. Hurry up and post the cost, okay? (Did I say I also want one? If I didn't, let me say it now: I also want one. ) Lady B

Well It will be a week or two before I have them ready, I guess a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. But what is a nail worth?? maybe a question for Condor! john

Does anyone else need a can o' worms opened? Now that definitely is a question for Condor!! ;D (Why would anyone put worms in a sealed can in the first place?) Lady B

That's a great piece of stone, BuiltonRock - you've certainly got the talent with that one, sound like you could be very busy! I like odd shaped rocks, and that's certainly a piece of fine working, congratulations on not breaking it! Blarney - thanks for sharing it with us Sir, It's certainly a wearable piece, very nice. LadyBB - just for you - it's a can of worms! I think folks feed the fish with them! Cheers, Harry

(semi-lapsed) Catholic here, we get nails once a year. I sure like your idea! I have bunches of metal nails (you can't just throw them away!!) I am always looking for non-smarmy religious gift ideas, for baptisms, first communions, confirmation, graduation etc. You have really 'nailed' it for me. I do have a few techie questions! Thanks for the great idea!

Nice nails. Sure is something unusual. Seems hard to get just right and easy to break while working on it. You've done a great job.
