Wow that is so cool. Isn't it interesting to finally see what is inside these big rock roughs? That is going to make the neatest table.

Spike, you never heard of Boddingtons ale? Its only the best pub ale found in the can!! There is nothing like a rough day at sea, finding jade stones and admiring sea life. Then coming home, kissing my wife, cleaning dive gear and inspecting my finds while sipping a nice Boddingtons ale. Sound like a commercial? I wish but it really is a great brew & my personal favorite beer. Tony, man everytime time I look at find some of the larger pieces I think of your 36 inch slab saw. I wish you lived nearby, I could put that saw to the test. Deb, that is the best part to me on what is inside. I love cutting open the jade stones almost as much as finding them.

Neph-
That looks like a very promising project. What a cool find and neat way to display your love/passion for jade. Are you thinking square, round, or let the shape of the jade dictate what shape it becomes?
Cheers buddy,
gaeter

Let me know when you want to start and what kind of wood you want to use! Oh, and thank you for not asking me to cut that sucker for you. Looks like whoever cut it had a rough time with it too.

THat's an amazing boulder! The pattern reminds me of a shark for some reason. I've seen a table with a big slab of pet wood set into the middle and grout around the edges to fill in the gap. It looked very nice and I bet that jade would look outa this world in a table. Steve

Ahhh somthing I'm familiar with - Nephrite, if you ever visit the UK, I'll take you to sup Boddy from the tap, it's even better the closer you get to the barrel, delicious!! - There's another local brew - Mansfield, which is even more drinkable than Boddingtons, but it's not very widespread even here. Now... That Jade is quite stunning Sir, very very nice, thanks for sharing it with us. Does the colour vary much? and how hard is it to polish? The slabs you've got there must have taken some cutting, even on a big saw! Kudos mate - that's some super rock hunting. Cheers, Harry. p.s. Does the "head" survive on your pint? I think it says imported on the can, so do the cans have "head" widgets? Hummmmm Chilled Bod, better go and check out the fridge....

Wow that is a big a$$ hunk of jade. Are the red and white in the rock or just marks from the saw. I do woodworking, mostly turning, but if you need someone to brainstorm with for the table let me know. Haven't had a Boddington's in years. Now you've made me thirsty.
