I suspect the motor is sealed. The fan component might have dislodged or become galled due to vibration. Moving it might have solved the issue, and might have to be repeated. Most motors have an overheat breaker. If the fan is not providing cooling air, the breaker will shut down the motor. It might just be the fan, and the integrity of the fan components. That might recquire either cleaning or oiling.
