Well, I put my pendents and earrings in a new place today. Or I should say a new place bought some of my stuff to sell. It's a winery in town that gets ALOT of tourist traffic. They have a wine tasting and tour, then appearently my stuff looks pretty good. I sold 11 pieces to them for $77.00, (70% of what I would sell them for out right) and between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM today, 2 pieces sold! I haven't gone over there to see what of the 20 pieces I sent over are on display, but I do know they marked them up above my original selling price ($10.00 each) and they are turning. Next batch I sell to them will be just a little bit priceyer if this trend continues. Anyway, I SOLD SOMETHING! My dream is coming true ;D YIPPEE!

OK, here's the bad news. My tumbler just died. I only have the one Ratech 5 and I'm in polish with some Tiger eye and Labadorite. I plugged it in, it ran for about 2 seconds, and shut dowm. Dam, my first profits go to buying a new tumbler. POOP!!

Cookie, Yeah! I am sorry your tumbler took a vacation, or resigned completely. That is a bummer. I know the feeling real well. Opening a shop is not just the inventory and waiting for customers to show up! It seems, just as you get your ducks in a row, you find out you lined up the wrong ducks. It seems endless. It wears a person down. However, once it gets rolling, it sure feels good. After a while the overhead gets behind the income. Something is always going blooey, it just doesn't seem so dire as time goes by. For a beginner, it can seem like the most unfair, unreasonable, insurmountable series of events. I sincerely hope it is a minor fix. Chin up, congrats!!! and remember, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Remember, those two pieces did not sell because people felt charitable for the winery. They sold because some people liked them enough to want to have them. They probably laid out a chunk of change. Nobody lays out tangible equity just for the novelty. They must have been that good. Good for you.

A word of warning to vibe users. I wore out three of these polishing ammunition cases for reloading in the 70s thru the early 90s. Thes use a weight on the shaft of the motor to produce the vibration nedded to perform the "Vibe" action. the counter weight is causing the motor to self destruct....and it will eventually. All three I had were Ultra Vibes and the motors had holes for oiling the motors....do this each week or suffer a premature death of the inductive rolling magic item that makes it go.
OH , Cookie, Congrads on selling the items...I am so proud of you.

Congratulations on the sales! The first profits might be going to fixing the tumbler, but hey, without the sales you'd still fix the tumbler, but the cash would be from your own pocket instead of someone else's.

Cookie, that's great! I'm so happy for you! It is the pits your tumbler broke! I wish I could tell ya' how to fix your tumbler, the Raytechs are made in such a way that you can't repair them without tearing the thing up. As you can see by looking at it, there is absolutely no way to replace the motor. A simple job, IF you could get to it. Dad's Rock Shop has the TV5 for $129.95 - the cheapest I have found. They are $10.00 less than Raytech sells them. www.dadsrockshop.com/tumbler_vibr.htmlAnd these folks are really nice. Unfortunately they are out of stock right now! If I ever have to buy another vibe tumbler, I am going to make sure the motor is accessible! llana

COOKIE!!!!
I knew you would sell some ... and congratulations! It sure makes you feel good when you know that what you made ... someone else liked enough to put out some hard earned dollars! Then to know that your creation will be cherrished for years to come ... well that is just frosting on the cake.
I hate to hear about your tumbler ... I still haven't got my motor on order, to get mine back up and running! I have needed every cent to go towards the craft show coming up on the 13/14 of Nov. in Denver, Colorado.
Best of luck, you are on your way to brighter days ahead!

Thanks all ;D And I have some good news. Not sure how I did it but the vibe is running again. I took the bowl off and fliped it over and looked at it from thr bottom. I figured out about the counter wieght on the fan, and tthe motior would turn on, but the fan wouldn't get going. I fiddled with it a while and it finally started up. How do you oil this motor, and where? It's encased but I think I can get a finger or two in there if I knw what I was aiming for. Herm, sounded like the Beach Boys in my head.

don't know nothin' about vibes, Ms. Cookie...but very glad to hear that you are up and running again....i guess the old adage "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is true then the same hold's true " if it's broke, keep messing with it until it works"..?
way to go, KD
