Thats a wonderful bit of forest for sure, very nice batch of finds!! I like those agate chunks, super stripey stones - the contrast between bands if wonderful! I've never seen Townley West Agates before - thanks very much for sharing you excellent haul. Will you be tumbling them up?! I'm looking forward to seeing the results! Cheers, Harry

I name the agate from the area I collected it from. You may see some strange names from time to time.Other than Fortifcation agate I don't think they have a name.I will maybe cab a few and keep the rest for the shelf.

Those Deerites are so cool. Bet they'd take an excellent polish.

Great finds Roger. Those deer look like they're posing just for you.
Did you carve the little buffalo?

Nice rocks! Those SD agates are just incredible and you seem to have had a bountiful field trip.
Funny how the deer know when the season opens, I bet those docile critters get pretty skittish in just a couple weeks!

Those are really nice Roger. the 3rd one down is really neat! Nice bucks too. So is this typical of the area you find these Agates in?? It looks grassy with pines...and I was thinking flat grasslands. Steve

I never ever ever get tired of seeing those incredible agates you come up with!!!! Ever find any of those deerites sheds? I need to hit the woods this spring for some sheds- Most of the flint knappers recommend antler tines- but man oh man they want a pretty penny for em-
