A couple of weeks ago Christian won a few goldfish at our local county fair - you know where you throw the ping-pong ball and try to get it in the bowls. I had already gotten rid of all my big tanks that I had used for wintering our garden pond fish, so we went out and found him a small 2-1/2 gallon tank that would be perfect for his bedroom dresser top. After we set it all up, it looked kind of bare. So, I gave him a big box of tumbled stuff that I had done up and let him pick out the ones he wanted to line the bottom of his tank. Of course he took all the pretty ones (pet woods and jaspers mostly), but no matter - his tank looks great and the fish seem to love them. Check them out! Thanks for looking! Dave

How neat! The fish have something of genuine interest to look at just as they would in the wild. But more importantly, you have once again given Christian an incredible memory of what it means to be loved!
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys! Christian has a ball watching and feeding them. I knew there was a good use for my growing pile of tumbles! Mountainmama - He is 4-1/2 yrs old, and I am proud to say that he is a rock puppy just like his dad. It's something we enjoy sharing with each other.

Very cool! Looks like someone forgot to set the white ballance mode on their camera though, or were you just going for the "world through the eyes of a goldfish" effect? I think if I ever get another fish tank going they will have the kickest ass gravel and stone in their tank that any fish could ever ask for! ;D

Tsk LCARS...."kickest ass"? I think the expression you're looking for "kick assest!".
Very cool fishtank you got there. But I thought the PETA people had done away with the winning of goldfish long ago.

Thats great you get to admire the fish and the rocks all in one look.My trim saw trimmings usually end up in the bottom of one of my tanks. NOW A WORD OF WARNING!!!! I have a number of tanks both marine and fresh water.Never ever put malachite, chrysocolla or any other copper bearing stone in a fish tank.....it WILL kill your fish! Also it would be wise to boil any tumbled rock before adding to your tank.

Nice Dave! Aren't kids the greatest things ever invented. Wow, to look through a kids eyes again. :-)
I'm proud of you, as well for being such a good Dad.
