I'm sorry, I'm going through my woodpile and this druze keeps popping up. This will be my last one for a while, I promise. Now the list is red, blue, purple, black, brown, and golden. Curt

Curt, I think it would be much more simple to tell us what color of druzy wood you DON'T have!
It's stunning, and I like the contrast between the color of the wood and the color of the druze.

Wow Tony! That's an amazing piece of pet wood, thanks very much for sharing it with us. The crystals seem really well defined. Would they be amethyst or something similar, or is it more likely some fancy mineral I've never heard of! lol. I love the way your woods are so distinctive Sir. It's always a pleasure to see examples of your collection, so NO..... Don't stop posting! Even for a moment! Well OK, just a moment here and there - for breathing and stuff Keep 'em coming Sir! Cheers, Harry.

Curt, you keep saying you will stop posting pics of druzy wood but you don't. Thanks for not stopping, and keep it up. How about one with different colors of druzy on the same piece. That's not too much to ask right? ;D

Brad Red and Pink colors are produced by the presence of hematite. Yellow, Brown and Orange colors are produced by the presence of goethite. White is produced by pure silica. Organic carbon or pyrite produces black. Purple and Blue are produced by manganese dioxide.
Or so I've read :-)
