It finally came!! After months of patiently waiting!! (ok maybe it was only days)
Not only did I get this but other goodies I'll be posting pictures of as soon as I can.
This box was packed about as tight as one of snowdog's flat raters! There were all kinds of goodies - some I wasn't even
expecting! Being my typical ADD self - I forgot to get pictures of all the non-rock stuff when I came in from taking the rocks
pictures. Included with the rocks were a cd full of pictures of his trip, a bookmark from the petrified forest, a authentic stamped
admission stub for the park, and the actual english version of the guide for the park! I was only expecting the cd! These things
were really cool and will be enjoyed for quite some time! In the book was a handwritten note so I'll not forget who and how I
came upon these awesome things!
The rocks are awesome - I'm still undecided as to whether I'm going to tumble them or just leave them as they are to set out
on my shelf. They are already partially tumbled and all have that "soft" feel that we all love so much. Here are the pictures:
The smaller pieces:
The mid-sized pieces:
And the larger pieces:
These are like nothing I've got - especially since I know they came from across the globe and were hand collected by Adrian!
Sorry for the size comparison - I had a heck of a time finding something that was a standard size - I must have stood there
and looked around the garage for a good 5 mins! No cans, coins, lighters...resorted to an old film canister and a carabiner. Maybe
not much help...
Now for the bonus rocks! Being a true RTHer, Adrian had a little room left in the box - instead of stuffing it full of paper towels or
some other lighter filler - he used Romanian rocks! Some pet wood that I'm not sure how he gave up - and a few others that I
have no idea what they are but am tickled all the same!
Here are the bonus Romanian rocks!
Overall I was happy as could be with my treasures! The cd full of pictures was amazing - all that pet wood in one place! Not to
mention the pictures of Adrian and his family enjoying themselves! He also scanned in the guide which I'm sure took
some time to do! Those of you who contacted me about getting a copy - I'll get those out as soon as I can. Anyone else who'd
like to get a copy please let me know!
Thanks again Adrian for the great box of rocks - they'll be treasured and enjoyed for a long time!!!
