I just want to acknowledge all of the lovely tributes that have come to me via PM, open posts, and photos related to the Poetry of Images Contest. It was a thrilling experience for me as others began to express in words what feelings, thoughts, and images come to us as we look upon the work of the many artists here at RTH. I haven't yet learned how to wrap or cab and my stones are in various stages of tumbling still. I have written enough poems. So I am reverting to another form of artistry to say thank you to all of you who made the Poetry of Images Contest not only possible but a resounding success. Brock posted a photo of a unique wrap that he did of a fossil dragonfly: and Dave wrote an incredibly beautiful poem inspired by that piece: The Dragonfly Takes to Wing which you can read at this thread: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=comptime&action=display&thread=1188100891And as my way of expressing thanks and sharing my own artistic interpretation, I offer this pen and ink drawing of "Dragonfly"... Personally, this has been an amazing journey of discovery, joy, and contentment. Thank you. Lady B

Wow LadyB, that artwork is amazing. I really like it! Would there be any chance of you posting it in a printable size?

nice drawing. You can't help but be inspired when you are surrounded by some many creative and talented people; one of the many reasons I visit the board every day.

I like your drawing, too. That's one of the things I can't do, draw or paint. My talents run in other areas - like organizing things (closets, pantries) for other people.
Do you draw frequently? Always have something in the works? That drawing would make a wonderful gift for your sort-of-secret-santa holiday gift exchange.

Shannon, Conn, Spirit, and Amy,
I go in spurts with all of my artistic efforts, craft efforts, poetry, etc. Different muses visit at different times. Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to command/demand which one should visit at any given time. That is why I so admire the people who can wrap at will, draw at will, write at will.
I am also thinking about setting up my MAC again and getting back to designing electronically. I think I could have a ball combining my love of all things rock with my quirkiness of design.
"Dragonfly" is hand drawn on 11 by 14 Rag Paper using technical pen and specialty permanent inks. Every component of the drawing is a specific geometric shape because that's just what seemed to fit the scheme as I saw it.
I am looking into getting some of my past efforts in drawing and design scanned so I can share them electronically with friends. Most of what I do is merely doodling and finds its way into the ever present circular file, but every once in a while, something wonderful happens, and a piece emerges about which I am pleased and happy.
"Dragonfly" is just such a piece!

I have to add that Kate showed me her picture in a PM she sent me about the time her contest ended. It is truly an inspiring work and a wonderful tribute to Brock's beautifully, artistic wire wrapped Dragonfly! She told me that the inspiration had come also from my poem, and for that, I am deeply honored. It is amazing that this hobby can bring out such feelings of creativity for everyone - each of us in our own ways. For some it is recognition, for others it is the creative side, but for everyone, it is the joy we all share with just being a part of this great place here at RTH through fellowship and communicating. Great work Kate, and thanks for getting all of our hidden, creative minds working again!

Your drawing tallent is great, Kate! Not only the dragonfly, but also the flowers are so beautiful! Why did you post it so small? Are you shy or are there copyright reasons? Adrian
