I finally got a day off and decided it was time to dig into some of my P of I winnings and see if I could do any 'creating'. I don't have a cabbing machine, but decided to try my luck some more with the WF,and my regular bench grinder. It does a decent job of shaping if I am very careful and don't rush myself. These are a few that turned out - they are rough and still need finishing, but the tumbler will have to take care of that part. A couple of Picture Jasper freeforms........ A 1/2 dollar sized button - looks like an underwater scene........ An agatized Pet wood triangle - same piece front and back - very different pattern!........... And last, a cool green colored soft Jasper. The green is very dark with a cream colored swirl pattern.......... Thanks for looking! Dave

I think I like what you are creating with your prizes--especially that underwater scene and the pet wood triangle. I'm glad you're having fun with your prizes. And even happier that you finally got a day off!!!
Look forward to seeing more prize projects!

Great job considering your method makes it difficult. That pet wood is cool.

Thanks all! It really is an unconventional process, but it works for me until I can save up for, or build, a cabbing unit. I have to wait a while for the end results but sometimes I get lucky and they turn out great. Can't wait to try some more! Kate - I figured the prizes had come to me because of creativity(and generosity from all), so I felt that the only thing to do was get creative and try to replace and pass on what was given to me! ;D

Snowdog - ;D I am seriously thinking about changing it over to diamond wheels - add a drip system, and be on my way! It's kinda hard now - I have to cab with one hand and use the spray bottle with the other. It's a toss up with the arbor, whether to go with a cabber or a bigger saw??
