Last week I received a box from a member (don't know if he/she wants to remain anonymous or not) and it included some geodes called a mexican coconut. He/she who will remain nameless cracked open 3 of them for me and left the other 2 for me to screw up (can you tell from the pics which one I did). The amazing thing about these is the variety found inside. This one is the only one with agate but has a great heart shape to the void This one has some cool blades inside, don't know what they are. This one has smokey quartz crystals. This is the best one in my opinion. The crystals have an amazing sparkle. The last one was nearly devoid of crystals. Looks like there maybe a small marcasite or two but nothing else so no pic. Half of the heart one is going to be sliced to see if I can get a cab out of it. The others will have their edge ground to give them a more finished look.

Awesome coconuts, especially the heart ! Are you going to cab it? Oh, no! I think it's pitty. Anyway, don't listen to me, there would have been no cabs if you ask me. But, seriously, I think you could find that blue banded pattern in slabs much more common than that heart geode.

Very nice geodes/coconuts ya got there. Those "blades" look an awful lot like they could be gypsum crystals to me. CLOSE-UP! ;D

Nice geodes! I like that last one also. All of them are unique and interesting. That smokey quarts one is particularly nice looking also. Steve

I love geodes! They are so fun! I spent a few hours w/my niece, cracking some from the large box I ordered from Snowdog. She had a blast with the hammer & chisel, and was fascinated every time one finally cracked! I sent some to school, have cut some, and saved a few as 'complete' specimans. That probably won't hold true for long, as I simply can't sit and look at 'em, wondering what the heck is inside....

That heart shape is awesome. Along with my love of scenic stuff; I love to see shapes and images in agate or jasper. You have the makings of some killer cabs.
