Howdy Folks I went back to my black druze site Sat. and uncovered another 18 inches of the log. I only brought back a few small pieces and covered the rest of it up. I'll go back soon and do some more digging. I hope to get a 3 or 4 foot intact log this time, so I'll just keep digging until I have that much uncovered. The log doesn't show any signs of ending, but it's getting deeper. I don't know how long I'll be able to dig into that hillside. I almost have a tunnel dug as it is. The log is full of clam bore holes that are filled with different colors of druze. This time I found blue. I've found a light blue before, but this is a much darker blue than before. Thanks for looking! Curt

OH Curt, THANKS for sharing! Everyday I stop and look at the piece of Pet Wood with the Black Druzy that you sent to me and I thank you and Mother Earth for this absolute beauty.
I am so glad you discovered this glorious piece and are willing to share it with all of us via the photos and gifts.

Hey Curt, let me know when you find one piece that has every color of the rainbow. I'm sure that will be in another week or two. ;D Nice wood druzy (yet again).

Very nice Curt! With your persistence....I'm sure you'll get a nice big log out of there. I'd like to see your tunnel....! It wouldn't suprise me at all if you'll eventually find the rainbow of druze colors. Steve

That druze is a treasure, Curt! What a hoot, digging, covering it back ... digging again ... I hope you will soon get one stunning log, but be careful at its size, don't forget you have to carry it Adrian

That is really cool. Are you looking to use as lapidary material or keep as specimens?

Oh how I love to find crystal pockets in wood and dino bone. Those are nice! Are you going to flat lap them or do they stay as is? Brad Guys This is lignite replaced wood and is very soft. I've made a few natural cabs with some small pieces of black that has chipped off. Now I'm working with grinding it and and seeing if it will take any kind of polish, even a dull polish would do, but I have my doubts. Still in the experimental stages, but for the most part it all will remain as specimen pieces. Curt
