A while back weeshan posted some pix of toadstools she had purchased from tonyterner. As soon as I saw them I knew they would be perfect additions to my collection of Woodland Gnomes from the Cairne Studios in NC. I contacted Tony and just because he is such a nice fellow he made a set for me and sold them at a ridiculously low price. I want to share the artistry of Tony's wood-turning with all of you.
Here's a group shot:
This next photo is a Must See...you must see the fine detailing that Tony worked on the undersurface of the caps of several of the toadstools. I chose one of the darker pieces so the detail would show up best on a photo...
And to give you an idea of how these will be displayed eventually, here is one of my Gnomes enjoying the company of the toadstools in the curio cabinet...
Tony is an amazing artisan and while these are not quite rocks, Tony's art ROCKS!!!!
Thank you, Tony, for adding a very special joyfulness to my collection of Woodland Gnomes. And thanks also for taking the time to label each piece...that just makes each one so much more enjoyable.

Really neat! I like the way the woodgrain resembles the gills in real schrooms. And hey, that's just prepetrification petrified wood anyway....Mel

All of them are masterpieces, but that fat, short one, made of birch, is really unique! WTG Tony for making them and Kate for appreciating this work!

Awww, LadyB dont you just love them!!!! Mine are sitting on a table right next to where I sit and chat with all of you. I adore mine and you are right, Tony produces amazing wood turnings. I really REALLY hope he wont kill me for this but Tony's wood turnings are being featured in a Fine Craft Show at an Art Gallery in PA starting this weekend! Check it out: www.wired-gallery.com/pages/future_exhibit.html Scroll down the page to see his name and photos of his work. Sorry Tony......no need to be shy. Shannon

Lady B, I'm glad you (and your gnomes) like them. I have a nice collection but had never sold any until weeshan asked me to make her some. Mushrooms aren't real big around here I guess.
Shannon, Kill might be too strong of language, how about seriously maim. LOL I had mentioned the show here before and will post some pics of my display in the life and everything section after I get it set up.
I keep threatening this but one of these days I'm going to update my website. LOL

Those are great, LadyB and Tony My Mom has some from Scotland; I should get her a gnome, they go so well together. Reminds me a bit about something to do with a hookah-smoking caterpillar ;D

The little white one makes me think of Darth Vader--at Christmas, when everybody's good! And when I view them all together I keep hearing the soundtrack to Fantasia where all the 'shrooms are dancing to Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. ;D Lady B
