Patti: I collected the Calico, reed, Boar Canyon, Owlhead, Lavic, Texas and Cady's stuff myself. Not the Mexico, Argentina and Indian stuff of course. Traded or silver picked the rest *S*....Mel

Hey Mel,
That peanut agate looks a lot like some King Cobra Jasper that I bought from Richardson's Ranch. Most was just jasper but some was an agate/jasper mix. Have you seen King Cobra? I think its from India.

Shannon: Yep, looks very much like the yellow and white form of Indian King Cobra. I have a red form of the Indian stuff too. The Woodward stuff is very variable too with some of the peanuts sometimes looking like little geodes or nodules of banded agate. The specimen I've pictured also looks a lot like some of the agatized magnesite from Clear creek and other sites in California's Coast ranges....Mel

Another great bunch Mel. Any idea how many different kinds of rocks you have? That peanut is real nice, never heard of that one, or half of the others for that matter. When are we going to see pics of the finished cabs? LOL

Tony: Good question but I really have no clue how many varieties of rock I have. My interests always shift depending on what new sites I find or what new types show up at shows and in books. I'll be into poppies for awhile , then get a renewed interest in jade, then fortification agate etc. All's I know is can't never have enough and there always seem to be more new discoveries than I can afford to buy. I had planned to do some serious cabbing today but my wifes out of town and I found out I have to do two bird presentations to sixth grade classes today so who knows when I'll get to hit the wheels. Almost finished three cabs yesterday but all three flew off the dops cause I guess either the dop wax is getting too unsticky or the water was too cold. Oh well.........Mel

Those are dreamy. Sigh. That's why I love this Forum... I can see so many beautiful rocks, even if I may never get to own half the ones I like..... The problem is, this forum introduces me to many more types of rocks that I would ever see (and covet) on my own! ;D Thanks for the beautiful pictures, Mel. Amy
