Well I finally got to take a few quick photo's of boxes of rocks from RTH members and a few I some "stuff" I slabbed. A box of agate (the name slips my mind right now) from Catmandew,Rocklicker and Skipper. You guys are GREAT!!!!!!!! A box of Crysocola from Jamie. Need I say anything about Jamie? These are some slabs I just cut. At 12 O'clock is some green jasper I collected while in VT. To the right is some Aussy Pet Wood 3 O'clock is white quartz I collected in VT. At the 6 O'clock spot is some lace agate. 7 O'clock and upward is some of the Mozarkite Puppie sent me. She sent me a whole box of it and a lot of it is still in the Speedy Dry to get the oil out from cutting. I would have all the rocks in the photo's but I could feel Randy trembling so I posted what I have thus far. Mozarkite Mozarkite Lace Agate Lace Agate Lace Agate Ausst Pet Wood Aussy Pet Wood VT rock,,,,Moss Agate??? VT rock VT rock And last but not least my gungy rock saw!I've been workin it REAL hard lately and it's like the African Queen right now! I hope you all enjoy these photo's and it gets Randy off my back!!! ;D I want to thank all of you for being so darn generous and pray that some day I will be able to repay all of you! God Bless,,, connrock Tom

That saw is a real beauty and so are the rocks. Looks like the burro creek FRB barely survived the journey! Nice cuts. Steve

Hey Wolf, I found that piece in a small half frozen creek and I'll have to research the location again for you. AHA!! I knew I could find it again!! Here's ther web site I found this info on: www.nuggetfever.com/minerals_of_vermont.htmWINDHAM COUNTY: Serpentine (varicolored), quartz, agate, garnierite, placer gold, garnets — Take Route 30past Newfane, turn right just before West Dummerston onto the road to South Newfane. About 8miles from Route 30, the road crosses Adam's Brook. Collect in the outcrops north of the road-cut and north along Adam's Brook. Serpentine boulders are in the stream, as are boulders with green, yellow, red and orange agate and quartz crystals. Some green surface coatings that maybe garnierite have been reported. Placer gold and garnets have been recovered in the brook, and also in the Rock River between Newfane and Dover.Phlogopite, diopside, calcite, graphite, hematite — Park at the New England Power Plant inReads-boro. Walk south about a mile along the railroad tracks to an old lime quarry. The largedump of rock from the water tunnel east of the plant has pyrite and garnet specimens. This is NOT a good place to go in the cold months!! I know we could have found a LOT of good material there but our hands and feet were frozen and we figured these 2 old farts better git while we still could climb up the bank! Ah course you "stump jumpahs" don't mind the cold like us southern "flat landers" do! ;D ;D ;D Hope this helps and good luck! connrock Ps: Here's a good place to start looking for info: www.anr.state.vt.us/dec/geo/catalog.htm

Mel, I would have more Mozarkite photo's but Randy was having a photo fit and needed a fix FAST!!
The Mozarkite fromPuppie is amazing! Some of the pieces she sent wern't big enough to put in my saw but they will get the kinks tumbled out of them!

Rocklicker, AHA,,,,Thats the name of that darn agate! Burrow Creek!!!!
I had my old memory banks running in full search mode and my ears were starting to puff smoke out!!
I think if that box had to go another foot to get here it wouldn't have made the jurney! I think the USPS may be buying their boxes made of foreign cardboard now because the boxes just aren't as strong as when they were first offered to us.
The photo's didn't show any of the agate slabbed as the pieces were still in the speedy dry soaking out the oil.
I may be able to help you with your packaging.
You keep sending me boxes of rocks and I'll let you know if your packaging techniques have improved! ;D ;D ;D
Thanks again for makin my day Steve!!!

That's some great stuff Tom. I like the Vt green moss the best because its about as local as nice rock gets from me. LOL Ah the African Queen, great movie but you saw looks in better shape than that boat, at least at the end of the movie. ;D

Hey Tony T.
You just like that because it's green!! LOL
I only got 4 slabs cut today on the "Queen"! That darn duct tape doesn't hold for beans on an oily surface!!
I've got to do something with it SOON or I'm stuck!!
I wonder what it would be like to own a brand new saw?I spend as much time fixing this darn thing as I do running it and maybe even more!
Take care,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hey Wolf, I'm glad I could help!! Now if only someone could find something here and let me know about it!! LOL Not gunna happen!!
I'm a little confused here. You say you're going to wait till next spring to collect due to the snow and cold.I always thought you "stump jumpah's" liked that stuff better then steak!LOL
Unfortunately we only head up your way in November!!The friends we have there have a 35' motor home and are gone from late April until late October. That's what you call a retirement!!
They live in West Townshend right up from the dam.Great people and a LOT of fun to be with!
I'll give you a hoot next time we head up that way!
