Pretty stuff Randy! If it's harder, maybe it's some form of dumortierite in quartz. It's almost agate hard sometimes....Mel

This stuff does seem almost agate hard, the slabs sound like agate when you tap them together. From what I remember, the sodalite that I had before had a dead sound.

Ahhhh Right on.. I went.. I saw.. I wish.. *sighs* unfortunately all I can do is wait for my (surprise me tumble) is what I call it every time I open My tumbler.. and nothing comes out as great as your cabs.. .. But... I think that is a granite and not a sodalite. Still looks nice.

Granite? Hmmmm, now that you mention it, the rocks look exactly like blue granite. Same texture, and they sparkle too. They do polish up nicely though, I've turned them out in several of my batches. Curt- the petstore sells them as aquarium rock. Roxy- did you say something? ;D haha ......thanks darlin

i have a lot of sodalite, and mine is almost all blue with just thin lines of white....... its one of my favorites, so i won't let ralph sell it all at the shows.................. lol

Jim- strickly reptiles here bud, nothing else ;D Dee- Since I started buying rocks at the petstore, I've purchased a crapload of red jasper, wonderstone, purple jasper, this blue stuff, and a few mystery rocks that always take a high shine. It's one of my favorite places to go rock hounding. lol
