don't keep us in suspense - how'd it go? are you too burned and sore to tell us? or smiling and sorting your treasures?

The best layed plans of mice and men... The wife got sick, and I had to remain home to take care of her and my daughter. I am trying again next week, I am sure it will still be there. Meanwhile I just keep busting up the rock I have. Which will keep me busy til at least next week since I have about 200# of the stuff. So right now I'm waiting for my "Do Overs". I'll keep ya in the loop!

I'm back from Burro Creek, and if anybody like Agates, there are whole ranges of them. You could have filled a truck with white and grey agate and not moved more than 10 feet. I was looking for the colorful stuff, but I got warm, then cold again, and then ran out of time. (It's a three hour drive). These have some swirls and stuff, mostly white with patterns, some greys... like the pictures. I took my grand daughter along and she had fun hitting me with the wagon and eating sweet-tarts. She wasn't too interested in finding rocks. Here are some shots and if anybody needs some, let me know, cause I have plenty. Same deal as before $2 bucks a pound plus shipping, unless you e-mail me or something, and we work something else out- I'm flexable. If you are really down on your luck, you can just cover shipping Still have Green Quartz, Gold and Red Jasper, and a potporri of mixed stuff. I'm sure to have better luck next time. I Do know where I zigged when I should have zagged.

Dang, Banjo, you made another haul! How's the back? I'm thinking I would like some of those smaller ones for tumbling, but can't get them right now. My budget for this month is already blown to smithereens, as is June's budget! And, it's not even June yet! As if I needed more rocks! I have half a 5 gal. bucket full of rocks that need to be cut either in slabs or to tumbling size, a 3 gal bucket full from the Falls City trip, several ziplocs of the green adventure and jasper I got from you and some stuff from the rock shop and 4 mediium small box fulls of quartz, flint and other assorted rocks I have found and a couple of WalMart bags full of who knows what! Will take me months to get all these tumbled. I really don't need more rocks, I need MORE TUMBLERS!

Thanks for asking, but my back is fine thanks to my 'Little Green Wagon'. Plus most of the Agate is not far off the beaten path. Don't worry about getting more tumblers, this sickness drives you to greater and greater aquisitions. I still can't pass up a good deal on a tumbler. As for the rocks, I have plenty and they aren't going any where. I plan to get out as often as possible, since I've got this 'out of print' book with all sorts of Arizona maps in it. I only have about 70 more sites to check out. I'm starting to get a little more particular, but I'll still pick up more than I can tumble or the trip doesn't seem worth the effort. I'm trying to get some of that Red and Gold Jasper polished and it's been in 60/90 for 3 weeks now. I should be nice when finished. I find my patience with the first step in increasing, and I have gotten a little more picky about what advances and what stays behind. My Granddaughter calls it "graduat'in up".

The small ones are the big ones busted up. Before they are hammered upon, have kind of a skin of orange, or white, and inside is the translucent agate with swirls, or I guess, from what I read in my book, fortifications is correct.

Wow Banjo... I leave town for a few weeks, and you go on another expedition!!! ::grins:: I gotta move to AZ, just to go rock hunting... we don't have much that I know of around Memphis... if we do, I have yet to find it... Those are some really nice rocks... Well, glad to see the wife is feeling better, and all is well...
If you by chance find any Fire Agate on any of these trips, please be sure to let me know...::Grins:: I'm always looking for more... as if the 5 lbs I have isn't enough for now.... Anyway, good hunting.
