Well laving tonight didn't happen (SIGH!) - I purchased a vehicle since the last time I used the trailer that I borrow, and the lights don't match up  So I have to wait until morning - fix the lights and go then (no stores in Heber have parts). Tim, we're planning on getting Topaz, Garnets, Apache Tears, and Agate, if we find red beryls, or other minerals that can be found but are rare out there we'll count it frosting on the cake I'll file a report here when I return... Sorry to hear about the light mismatch. Shouldn't be too hard to get fixed. Good to hear you got a new ride though.
HMMMM, let's see garnets, topaz and red beryl, sounds fun......got room????? J/K.. I've got soccer games, work and got some work to do on the truck (brakes, rotors, etc. looks like I'll be dropping a couple of hundy on that....ouch). Weather should pretty dang nice down there. I need to go there someday, I've heard a lot about it.
I thought there was only 1 place on this Earth to find red beryl and that's pretty much closed to the public. Is this true?
So are you coming back on Sunday or you going for the afternoon? Well keep me posted, especially if you find them cool beryls. I'll be rootin for ya.

bummer kd7 same thing happend to me when i got this truck who ever riged the light harness realy screwed it up i still dont have a running light on the driver side on mine but the brake lights and the turn signals work now so im ok for daytime ridin pullin the boat --- well maybe it was for a good reason --good luck hounding and take some pics for us

Hello all, We just got back! It was a great trip, even though we left later than planned We didn't make it over to the garnet area because of lack of time, but we got some nice topaz (for the group 2 brothers families, a friend and my wife and three of our sons). I'll get some pics on later - today I hope. We got 10 to 15 lbs of apache tears too (pics there too). No luck on the reb beryls, after some seriou looking. Gaetz, they can be found in 3 places in the world, thin blad ones in New Mexico, rare ones in the Thomas rance (Topaz Mtn. is in that range) an in the best mine in the Wah wah mountains, where the mine is. I;m told there are places out sife the mine that one can get lucky, but don't tresspass as you may see a shotgun... This is the first trip to the Desert that my Wife has said she would be willing to go back! (She hates the desert ) Our success lead to a beginning change of heart (I hope). Sorry to hear about the Sandsman, as you can tell I know the feeling - good luck on getting it fixed - I'm going o work on mine this week, we just took two cars to haul the tents (thankfully my Wife does like camping ) Thanks all, Jeff |
