As a kid my family went to El Vade about 3 times a month. When fishing and walking around the lake shores with my older brother I can remember finding geodes. We would find two and smash them together to look at the crystals inside. I remember there was lot's of the round rocks but only in that one area. Well 15 years later who would have thought I would be crazy about rocks. I will be making the 3 hour drive tonight to El Vado lake. I plan on fishing, swimming and trying to remember where the geodes where?

I found one small corner piece of a geode. They seem to be all picked and dug out. We did find some very nice slabs of fossils at the lake. We had fun anyway.
