We plan on going to Colo. at the end of the week. Anyone have good locations around San Luis Valley / Creede area?

Here's a great website on Colorado rockhounding. If you have 4-wheel drive, I suggest you check out some of the old mine tailings above Creede. If not, you won't get very far. Take a crackhammer. S www.peaktopeak.com/colorado/index.php3

Around Del Norte the twin peaks area had lots of jasper and tons of the clear and white agate, also pet wood. Not alot of colorful agate found this trip.
Didn't find anything around Creede.
Found some red and blue agate along the banks of the Rio Grande river.
All the mountains seem to have the clear and white agate up to 12,000 feet.
