Hello all, new member here. So, like the title says, are there any places to rock hunt in the Raleigh area, Wake County or somewhere close? I have been in the woods near my house and probably 200lbs of white quartz on hand, but have not found much other than that.
I know I could drive over to the mountains to some of the mines, but was just wondering if there is anything worthwhile locally? Also, what kind of rock am I likely to find in this area? Like I said, here, white quartz is like sand in the desert, it's everywhere!
