I am thinking of taking a day trip up to So. Utah on Saturday, anyone know any rockin' spots between Page and Hurricane or Page and Moab? I think that is about as far as I want to go in one day.

Hope it helps www.utah.com/hike/rock_hounding.htmGood luck and have fun. I found a spot in CT I am going to check out when the weathor gets better. It used be a quartz and mica mine. Take Care, Larry

BAZ-
Let me pull up some resources on S. Utah because I know there is a great spot to find Septarian Nodules (In fact, Steveholmes has been there.) I'll get back to you w/ a PM. When are you thinking of coming this way?

Baz, Feel free to PM me if your interested in Septarian locations. It's probably closer than Moab, but I don't know what your plans are like. The Septarians can be found in the Mt. Caramel area. LMK... Steve

Baz, When you get a chance to head to the Geode Beds...please holler. I love the Geode pits, and I can take you up to Topaz Mtn and you can dig in our secret place. We've (my brother and I) have been digging a spot for almost ten years, off and on. When we started the hole, it wasn't big enough to hardly get in, now it's big enough to stand up in. post a pic of your Geode. Keep in touch. PM me if you want my phone #. Steve

Baz, Betty and I are in Las Vegas as I am typing this. We are heading to Hurricane mesa perhaps on sunday to find some agates and possible tigers eyes and long with many other rocks up there. My dad was just up there two weeks ago, he said to watch out for unexploded ordinance. There is also a glass mine just south of St. George Utah, clear quartz. I picked some of that up my last trip to St. George. It is pretty interesting stuff. if you hed up to zion national park, just outside of it there is a place you can find pet wood. there is an indian shop just outside zion park sometimes they are open somtimes not, just a hit and miss place, they have authentic pottery relics and other really neat stuff in there, they have info on where to go to find the pet wood. We are going to zion this coming week one day. well good luck on your search for the rocks. Talk to you later on Steve & Betty

Baz, One of the easiest places to get big red and yellow and clear agate is around Joe Wilsons arch. It's right on Highway 191 south of Moab and it's easy to find on the highway just south of the arch on both sides of the road but especially on the same side. There's lots of better places but non much easier. csroc

Baz, That sounds great...not the houswework day, but the Topaz trip. Perhaps you could come down the first weekend of April. I'll be home alone and wouldn't mind getting out for a few days. Keep me in touch...and looking forward to a trip to topaz/Dugway Geode beds! Steve
