Hi all, Well Betty and I are on our way to Mesquite Nevada this morning to See my dad and from there we will be heading out this afternoon to hunt for gold dust and agates and other cool rocks. This has been a wonderful trip for us as we have quite a few rocks in the truck already. If anyone will be close to Mesquite, NV. We would love to meet with you and share some stories and places to go. On Wednesday we are heading out from Mesquite going north to hwy 70 and driving across to Colorado and Kansas then back to Oklahoma, so if anyone knows of good rock hounding places out that way please let us know. We have 3 days to travel and rock hound. Talk to everyone soon and we look forward to sharing our trip with anyone and everyone. Thanks y'all Steve & Betty

Steve and Betty-
The I-70 corridor thru Utah is loaded w/ opportunites. Take your time (at least a full day)coming thru and just pull off the Interstate and look for dry washes. Specifically, the Exit to Hwy 24 to Hanksville about 10 miles west of Green River has lots of spots on the North and South sides of the exit. The North side has a dirt road that paralells a nice dry wash that is nice for petrified wood. Right there at the exit are some turnoffs that have tons of nice agate/petrified wood/jaspers etc.
About 30 miles past the Hanksville exit is the Yellow Cat area that is good too. Just be patient and take your time and you will be rewarded w/ some nice stuff. It would be beneficial to hole up in Green River too as there are many opportunities there.
I hope this helps. For more info, please let me know more about the specifics of your travels and I can possibly help you out a little more.
