while wandering around the "old pony express trail" in the west desert of Utah l stumbled across a outcrop of agate, yellowish with white edges, not sure what would be legal way if any ? of harvesting it,the exposed part is 2 1/2 feet tall x 2 1/2 wide at the base and it tapers from a knife edge to around 10 inches at the base in thickness, how far it goes underground l have no clue,if you get out that way, park at the"black rock station" and look south, there is a large formation of rhyolite ,in the distance you see the "thomas range" which includes "topaz mountain",walk towards the steppes you see in the far distance along the left side of the rhyolite, about a 1/4 of a mile you can find this outcrop. l most likely will never make it back there but would love to see some worked,be aware, open your heart and the "topaz" calls you south,in the book "Some Dreams Die" by George A Thompson,he relates a story of topaz crystals the size of your fist,l have felt the call and you can feel the direction to go if you unfocus your mind and just feel.E
