Hi
This is my first post. We've just started rock-tumbling and will be on holiday near the Yorkshire coast soon. Can anyone recommend any good collecting spots? We're not after rare and exotic minerals, just somewhere to find some nice rocks for tumbling e.g. Jasper, agates etc. Thanks

Don't know if I'm too late - only just found the forum! I'd head to Gristhorpe - just south of Scarborough. I've always found cool rocks there, plenty of red jasper fragments, occasional fossils, amethyst and agate fragments. Certainly worth a look anayway!

Harry, John is back up but is still having problems!
That's what he gets for letting his computer sit there by itself and going off on holiday without it!! LOL

I bet he's going nuts. When the power goes out here, we last, or I should say I last for about 60 minutes then Rodney has to get the generator out so I can get online. Pitiful huh?

Hi guys, thanks for the updates, I'm looking forward to sharing some info on local rock hunting locations, our info this side of the water is sadly lacking. He may have been caught up in the recent flooding problems occuring this end. Us Norfolk folk managed to escape this one with little in the way of concerns, (it's usually us with our very low lying county) but Yorkshire was struck badly, and many places have only just got water back up! Hope he didn't have to tough a time of it. And PC's never play ball when you want them too, well, mine don't that's for sure! Cheers All,
Harry
