We will be leaving Thursday for our New Mexico trip. We are debating instead of cutting across the top of Texas to NM, but maybe going further south into Texas then over to NM, what kind of rocks could we maybe come across if we did that? Sandy

If your cutting across on I40 into Amarillo,go to Palo Duro Canyon lots of agate flint and fossils to be found.Just be sure to note what areas are surface collecting only. Also lake Meridith north of Amarillo there is some of the most colorful hard flint .... called Alabates flint. If your in the park itself you can only collect a handfull.....I always ask the ranger what constituted a handfull???

You would have to go way south to get into my collecting area. Lots of pet wood, jasper, and a few small agates. Let me know if you want to go that far out of the way.

I'm not sure at this point if we are going that far south, we just found out boyfriend's aunt has property in Deming, so will be hitting over there a lot I'm sure. Does anyone know any areas to get coconut geodes at wholesale cost, boyfriend has saved a lot hoping to make a big buy. Sandy
