In a week I'll move from the lovely Land of Enchantment to Northern Virginia. While I'm truly sad about it, I'm trying to cheer up and part of that is locating good locations for rock hounding within a few hours drive of Northern VA. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks all. MaryAnn

All - I've learned that there is a Northern VA Mineral Society and they make regular trips to quarry sites to dig and collect. I think for those of us in this area, that is our best bet. Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Have fun in NoVA. It's beautiful up there when you can get away from the cities. Granted, the DC area does have some nice things to see as well. There's a couple members from Western Maryland on the board (though I can't remember when they last logged on) that found nice things in stream beds, if that helps!
