I have seen this on other forums aswell, so I thought it may be a good idea to try one out here. Ok - dunno what to say Andrew - Rocktumbler from the UK, into doing websites and search engine optimisation. I need more time to do the rocks, and I also need to sort out my garage as the roof is leaking now. My fav stone has to be Carnelian. 35 on Wed next week

Happy Birthday Andy! I'm a transplanted western Canadian now living in New Hampshire (granite rough anyone?). I'm 41 (dangerously close to 42) married quite happily to a wonderful man who built me a tumbler from spare printer parts and a motor he had "laying around". It works like a dream. I have a toddler, two cats and enjoy all sorts of crafting including knitting, crocheting, beading, jewelry making and silk painting. I've had happy times lately as I've been able to combine several of these hobbies together to make some really cool stuff. Rock tumbling just seems to be a natural extension to the rest of what I enjoy. I wish I could say I have a favorite stone, but the truth is I'm enormously fickle about them and lust after whatever the last pic someone posts here is.

Another new board. Great!!! This will be a good way to get to know all the "newbies" who flock in here. Anyway, my names James and I love rocks! What more can I say. Favorite rock. That's a tough one. It seems to change every so often. Right now it's agates; of all different types. Mexican Agates are the best in my opinion. 25 years old and counting.

Hey all... good idea to get to know everyone, Andy...
Let's see... a bit about myself... name is Billy, a 24 year old ex-computer nut who's finding a new life with rocks... jewelrycraft and rockcutting has always been a hobby of mine, and it's now that I'm able to combine that hobby into a possible job venture. I'm currently living about 10 minutes south of Memphis, TN and am attempting to get a business going out of my jewelry hobby.
My favorite rock... hmm, I'm with James... very tough one... it varies, but hematite and amethyst have always been constants... in fact, I'm never without my hematite point pendant... but these days any stones will do, as long as they polish up nice, and have a story of their own to tell...

Llana here, from the great state of Texas, where it is 80 degrees and we're breaking out the shorts. Home is wherever I park it. Gas prices and some repairs will keep me in Texas for a while.
Work is - hmmm, well, just about anything somebody hires me to do. Right now I am pressure washing/painting a fence.
Got hooked on tumbling in January, as did my best friend. We are doing craft projects that we can use our stones on and plan on selling them on eBay and a craft shows. Building weathered wood/driftwood birdhouses and feeders now and have lots of ideas in waiting - kinda like all the rocks we have in waiting. LOL!
Favorite rock - gotta be Mook (at least right now)

Just a thought...if we all create our own thread, it's easier to "look up" info on someone if we want, rather than hunt through this thread. Up to you!

Hey all, just joined up and saw this and it is a great idea.
My name is Carolyn and I live in South San Francisco, CA. I have been into rocks for such a long time, I have quite a little collection of some beautiful rocks and have wanted to get a tumbler for so long. I finally got one today and I am so excited to start but nervous. I have several Poppy Jasper rocks that I collected on my aunts property and I want to know if that is a good rock to use in the tumbler? I would not shy sway from any and all the input anyone can give.
Again this is great and I look forward to learning all I can and sharing my experiences.
