Hello everyone. My name is Brett. I'm from Lafayette,Indiana. right next to Purdue Univ. I'm 33 years old and I have a 8 yr old son that lives with me. I'm a millright general forman for a contractor based in Kalamazoo, Mi. I work at Subarau Automotive Plant in Lafayette. We install new robots and alot of the assembly line. I just started with rock tumbling in late December when I bought a small tumbler for my son. Now that one is put away and we have a 12 lbs and a 6lbs tumber. If most of you have read my inputs you know that I just bought a hole bunch of rocks and equipment from a guy that was in lapidary for about 30 years. So this is my hobby. I'm having a great time doing it with my son. And been able to sell some pendants and rings that I have made. What a good feeling! Soon I will be posting pics of rocks and slabs that I have to see what you think and if you know what they are. The beautiful colors that are in rocks just shows you that there is a God.

From one Hoosier to another, Welcome! I'm glad to hear that you have been able to sell some of your creations. That's always a good feeling to know that people like what you create. If you know of any rock shops around let me know. The only one that I have been able to find is in Elwood. The place is called Spencer Lapidary.

Hey Brett, good to meet ya. Great pics. The boy sure does look like a big helper! Ya got to love hummingbirds, they are so tiny and fragile. I found one that didn't survive and made a little tiny flint tipped arrow with the itty bitty feathers as the fletching. It layed across a penny. Talk to ya later, Don

Hi Brett, Good looking young helper you got there. I had 2 feeders on my patio in Texas. We called it Top Gun cause the humming birds would swoop down on each other, sometimes grabbing one another by the legs and pulling them away. That back yard was backed up to a small protected "green space" of about 3 acres so it was this little eco system. Some amazing animals would come back there. We had 3 fish ponds, 2 above ground and one below, full of Koi and goldfish. We had deer, racoons, bunnies a beautiful white hawk who allways showed up when it rained....just all kinds of wild life. that's the one thing I miss about where I lived in Texas.
Welcome Brett ;D

A ruby throated hummingbird, cool. We have the variety of hummingbirds here that are kinda green. Still pretty though. I love how it looks like it has no wings because they are flapping so fast!! Nice lookin place ya have there Brett. Looks like Indiana to me!!

I was standing about 3 feet away when I took the hummingbird pic. We have the green ones too. Last week I had to pick one up that hit the window. Boohoo. I hate when they hit the window. We do get alot . The house is in the middle of about 50+ acreas of woods. There are only three houses and we are the last one. So, we get all sort of critters up at the house. During deer rut season they get around close to eat out of the deer feeder and when you walk outside you will hear them s nort at you then take off. That can scare the crap out of you. Here the past couple of nights we have been getting some weird noises comming out of the wood and can hear it run when you go outside. I figure it is just a critter and leave it as that.

that is so funny . I was hoping my county was on the list. The next county had a sighting. Maybe I should give a report on my sounds. My luck a bunch of goofballs will show up at the house wanting to do tests on me and my land.

Don't feel bad Brett my county wasn't on the list either. (I was curious, I had to look! ;D) That just goes to show you what sort of odd websites are out there. I just want to know how Don happened across it. Otter

I think I know what the noise was. Last night I was behind the pole barn burning some wood when I heard a sound. I looked back and a fox was walking behind me. He didn't care that I was there. I got looking in the woods and found his den. So, maybe that's the sound I heard.
