Hi all. Just wonderin' if anyone else called that lapidary shop in Kansas that's selling all their inventory. BearCreek posted the info last nite. here's the link to his post: andy321.proboards16.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1103495098Anyway, I called today and placed an order and she is going to send a catalog so I can see what all they have. I ordered an 8" diamond grinding wheel 280g for $47.98, an 8x3 diamond sanding belt600g for $39, and 25lbs. of 60/90@ $.88/lb. They said they would be selling off their inventory for at least another 2 months. The 75% discount is for walk-in customers and phone orders are 60% off. I can't complain, I got everything for less than what I would normally pay for just the grinding wheel. Had to keep hitting redial as the line was busy all morning. Thanks for the tip John, it was well worth it. Ed

I was sad to hear that Ebersoles was going out of business that is the closest rock shop that I know of to me. Tami

Hey Tami, if you're close to them, you should go see them. Great prices.

I called and ordered 25# 60/90 grit. No deals on a diamond wheel though - well, probably a deal for somebody but I still couldn't afford it right now. I did ask them to send me a catalog though and will probably get some stuff from it if they have anything left! Said it would be at least a couple of weeks before they could send it and they might not have any of the good stuff left by then! llana

With it this close to Christmas I don't have time until after the new year, if they are open when I do get to Wichita then I will go check out what they have got. I called them and asked for them to send me a catalog. I asked them why they were closing and they said that they were downsizing, but they were going to continue with catalog orders. I think their business really got hurt when they had to move. They weren't as easily found, and I am sure that when they were just off the highway they had alot of drop in customers. As kids when we would travel on vactions we would see a rock shop just off the highway and we would tend to stop and check it out. Tami

Hello everyone,
I am glad to see that some of you are getting some good deals!
When you do get your catalogs ... you will have to call in and see what else they have left.
When I went there ... they did not have near as much as I was hoping for! It seemed as though what ever I was asking about ... they had none!
They did say that they were bringing more and more stuff from the warehouse and that availability could change from one day to the next. They asked to to just stop back in within a couple of days and double check. I told them that it was a 5 hour drive (one way) just to get there ... and it was not possible for me to make a trip every weekend. We are thinking about going back ... we are just not sure as to when it will be.
Tami - If you ever want to come brouse through my rock inventory ... just let me know. I am a whole lot closer than Ebersoles. I am currently in the process of moving the 12,000 ceramic molds to another location in town. This will allow me to sort my rough and set up a full sized working rock shop. I will definitely let you know when I am ready to open the doors! It will most probably be sometime this summer!
Happy Holidays!
John

I must be bad, I just called and got told there'd be a 50% discount. Maybe it depends on who you talk too. ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) Even with that, still can't afford a slab saw though ... Cher

I have dealt with Ebersole's on 2 or 3 orders and have been satisfied. If you are dealing with heavy items keep a close eye on shipping charges.

I ordered 25 lbs. of grit from them on the 27th. They charged my credit card on the 27th, but I haven't seen hide nor hair of the grit. Will be calling them tomorrow.
I don't even have enough 60/90 to recharge my barrels, so I AM NOT a happy camper with these folks!
