Hello every one, I have always liked rocks. I had a rock tumbler when I was a kid, but I do not know what happened to it. My family and I where on vacation last August on Lake Superiors north shore. I bought a book called "Rock Picker's Guide to Lake Superior's North Shore", at a store. In this guide it has lists of beaches of where to finds rocks. I went to one of the listed beaches and found some nice rocks. I also found a few small Lake Superior Agates. I purchased a Lortone Model 33B at a rock shop on the north shore. I also just purchased a Chicago Electric double 3 lbs tumbler. I plan on ordering the Thumlers Tumbler Model B at Kempf Gun Shop. What a great price. ;D I now have a table set up in my garage with both tumbers going and a cabinet with all my supplies in it. I also have many plastic tubs full of rocks. I pick up rocks when I have a spare moment at work. I work for a large manufactured home community with vacant land. I seem to find at least one Lake Superior agate a day. I have learned a lot from all of you, and find the information posted here of great help. ;D

Hello Agate Hunter,
Welcome to the forum!
It must be nice to find Lakers so easily ... the only Lakers I have personally found were on the television set!
Have a great evening,
John Southwestern Kansas
