Greetings -- What will happen if I put 3 inch river rocks in my 3 pound lortone tumbler? I want to polish them, and wonder if I can use this tumbler, or do I have to go to a 4 or 6 pound one? Thanks --Aud

I've tumbled one rock that big in my three pound barrel. It was in a load of smaller rocks. I think the secret is to make sure the rocks have lots of room to move and grind each other down along with the grit.

it isn't recommended, but you could probably get away with one 3 incher with a bunch of smaller rocks....my tumbler instructions say nothing larger than 1-1/2"-2" but if you charge it right, you can probably push the envelope...?
let us know how you make out,

i've done up to 4 or 5 lbs in my 3 tumbler, but it was a heavy rock and nearly shot the motor, it did strip the belt, thats what u have to be careful about
