The Weather is ok. Im origonally from Arizona so the weather is a BIG change for me even after 4 years of being here. Right know we have snow on the mountains. so thats nice. Its supposed to snow in town tomorrow. I hate driving in it. Even with 4wheel drive and studded snow tires. I would also have to say its really pretty here compared to Arizona. Would like to have 123degree weather like Arizona but I know its not going to happen.
Thanks for asking Ron

Hello Rose hows it going?
Rosebud- My mother-in-law lives in corvallis. I think its pretty down there but I would not live there. I dont see verry many trees to block out the wind. The wind gets really cold. Have you herd of a place to go rockhunting? I just pick up rocks that i think are pretty. I really dont know anything about rocks.
So this is for anyone. How long did it take you all to figure out what types of rocks are out there and where to find them. Im looking for a spacific kind and IM not sure if I can find it here in the mountains or if i have to buy. I think if I can find them than they are more centamental?? I need a dictionary. Like wonderstone. has anyone found any of those? Or do you buy?
bye thank you

Hi and welcome momma! From a fellow newbie. ;D I'm like you in that I pick up rocks because I like them. No idea of any value or what they are in general. It's fun, though, isn't it?

Momma, I don't know of any places out there, wish I did. I'd love to be able to go out there and look for Montana Moss Agates and anything else I can find that's catches my fancy. Here in Minne-snow-ta, I always go out looking for Lake Superior Agates but end up bringing home 99.9999% other stuff. I generally will pick up anything that looks interesting, rocks that is. ;D I figure if you think it's kind of cool in the rough, imagine the beauty you'll find when it's polished.

Hello Momma,
I am a little behind ... I hate when that happens!
Welocme to the board, I have not been on much in the past month. Between shows and craft fairs ... I have been extremely busy!
You have found a great site, everyone within the forum is great. Sometimes a little wild ... but, you really wouldn't want it any other way!
Enjoy,
John Southwestern Kansas
