I've posted a couple times here now, just wanted to make my formal little hello to you all I'm new to rockhounding (been working with gemstone beads for quite some time, but that's the extent of my lapidary know how) and recently acquired a sphere maker, so I'm diving right in! My tumbler is going right now in my room (so relaxing to sleep to) - just a 3 lb chicago electric one, but it works for now. I'm a poor college boy, so I use what I can get! Anyways, I've browsed quite a bit and I think you're all wonderful people, you've answered TONS of my questions without me even having to ask! Aaron

welcome aaron! are you using your spheremaker yet?
i would definitely not have had any money for rock tumbling in college. there were important things to buy like beer, more beer, and lots more beer ;D .

Thanks all! No spheremaker using yet - it's actually in the process of being made for me and shipped to me. Should have it in a couple weeks. In the meantime, I'm cutting rocks on my homemade rock saw (drill press turned on its side with a 6" blade) - not very precise or safe, but it works! I'm getting plans to build a chop saw from the guy that's building my spheremaker, so hopefully that will turn out to be a less-than-expensive endeavor.

Aaron-
Welcome aboard. Where ya attending? Studying? I think a spheremaker would be very cool. Hope you post pictures of your spheres when you're done.
Cheers,
Gaeter

I'm at Wichita State University (home of BTK, woohoo!) majoring in Dance. I have some spheres pre-formed, need to build a big enough grinder and get my sphere maker and buy some tin oxide and I'll have some pics up in no time Aaron
